Re. Dewel Jamerson, Jr.

Dewel Jamerson Jr., born in 1971 in Winona, MS, served 22 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He holds degrees in Psychology, Theology, and Business, and is working towards a Doctor of Health Administration. Ordained as a preacher in 1999, Jamerson is now the Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He is married with children and grandchildren, and has received numerous military commendations.

Our Mission

Jesus, in the great commission, commanded us to “…Go ye therefore…” We at Emmanuel Baptist Church want to capture the spirit and intent of what He commanded us and want to “be about the Father’s business.” We’ve adopted a mission statement which we believe is in line with the Savior’s commission.

What We Believe

We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us, and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried.
