Dewel Jamerson Jr. was born on November 13, 1971, in Winona, MS to the union of Reverend Dewel Jamerson Sr. and Betty Jamerson. He is the second of four children.
Dewel graduated in 1990 from Winona high School in Winona, MS., a year later in 1991 he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as an active-duty member for 22 years. While on active duty he earned a Baccalaureate degree of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College, a Baccalaureate degree of Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary, a Master of Business Degree (M.B.A.) from Strayer University and he is currently working on a Doctor of Health Administration (D.H.A.) from Capella University.
Dewel accepted his calling into the ministry and received his license to preach in December 1995, and later ordained as a preacher in July 1999.
Due to his military obligation and travels Dewel had the opportunity to sit under great leadership such as Rev. Dr. E. E Ruffin, Trenton, NJ, Rev. Russell Fox, Trenton, NJ, Rev. Lorenzo Heard, Albany, GA, Rev. Dr. Jerry Black, Atlanta, GA, Rev. Dr. Darrow Perkins, San Diego, CA. and Rev. Dr. Charles Heart, Norfolk, VA.
He began his current work in the Lord as the Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church during April 2023.
In the summer of 1996 Reverend Nathaniel Benjamin united him and Lyvonne Robinson of Trenton, NJ in holy matrimony. They were blessed to have four beautiful children, one of which has gone home to be with the Lord and seven grandchildren.
He served his country honorably and retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer HMC(FMF) on July 31, 2014, after 22 years of honest and faithful service. For his efforts, he has been awarded the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal, four Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, two National Defense Service Medals, two Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals, three Navy Battle āEā medals, five Good Conduct Medals and a host of other awards and commendations.
Dewel is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
